OUR STORY...

We are a female-led organization focused on improving the economic competitiveness of students in developing countries through a learning model that promotes experiential and competency based education. Understanding the skills gap and the need to promote continued research and innovation in Africa, we believe that better preparing Teens for tertiary education will increase their chances of success in STEM careers. We emphasize the practical application of STEM as a proven method to tackle community development issues. 

Tackling the SDGs with SDG 4 as a foundation

Everything that we do at STEMJets is aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals as we are committed to promoting sustainability through STEM. We are developing a space and ecosystem that prioritizes hands-on learning, industry relevant skills, leadership mindset and a global perspective targeted at Africa’s growth.

Mission

We are on a mission to achieve Access, Mobility and Inclusion in STEM for students in Africa especially in marginalized areas. STEMJets aims to increase the percentage of students opting for careers in STEM fields by 10% in our target communities for the first 3 years of operation. At STEMJets we believe that higher education is the strongest platform to upward Socio-economic mobility and contribute to change in the community. That is why we are set up as a Non- profit organisation that targets individuals at levels preceding higher education to attract and equip them with the necessary skills required for success in their chosen STEM Careers.

Despite the fact that STEM has achieved relatively slow development in Africa, we are optimistic for the future of STEM in Africa. Through an active and collaborative network, we work in unison with partners and technical experts to prepare the next generation of African STEM leaders.

In the words of Albert Einstein to view old problems from a new perspective requires creativity. Our goal is to inspire the next generation of leaders, intellectuals and problem solvers, who are empowered to allow their imaginations come alive.

A curious mind brings forth more innovation. From ideation to program delivery, our approach is an iterative process relying on the input of our stakeholders through a continuous feedback loop that ensures  value creation in our partner communities.
